SOCIAL IMPACT EVALUATION FOR

THE BRUCE HIGHWAY

The purpose of the Social Impact Evaluation (SIE) is to identify the range of potential social impacts, positive and negative, arising from the various upgrades of the Bruce Highway.  The SIE therefore broadly aims to:

-  Identify the social issues and potential impacts as a result of the project

-  Anticipate and assess impacts

-  Identify a range of enhancement and mitigation measures to lesson negative impacts and maximise positive impacts.

In complying with the Building Queensland Social Impact Evaluation Guide, the evaluation comprised of the following:

-  Undertake the social impact evaluation, including necessary workshops and detailed interviews

-  Develop and specify the social impact baseline (SIB)

-  Complete and document an impact risk assessment (IRA), including identifying the likelihood and severity of (negative and positive) social impacts

-  Identify metrics for the quantification of material social impacts

-  Complete an appraisal summary table

-  Complete a social impact evaluation report

-  Develop all content for the business case chapter
